Traveling Exhibition

"In Lieu of Flowers" Traveling Exhibition by Laurie Peek

I can provide an exhibition with the working title of “In Lieu of Flowers” that will address issues of love and loss, memory and grief, as well as the healing power of creative activity. Since most people have experienced some kind of loss and its attendant grief, I feel this body of work has universal appeal and poignancy. 

I have about fifty gilded (with gold, gold- or silver metallic leaf on verso) prints, both vertical and horizontal to choose from, as well as a number of larger, framed edge-to-edge “33 x 25”paper prints (not gilded) from this body of work to create a varied and dynamic layout on the walls. Vases of flowers on pedestals, could reflect the “In Lieu of Flowers” theme and add dimensionality to the room. Larger hanging images on fabric could also be an element. Alternatively, a ceramic artist could display botanical works to further amplify the theme.

As an option, I am open to collaboration with other artists whose work might align with mine to make it a powerful and coherent group show.
